Positions at Zodiac Swim School:

Types

Assistant Water Safety Instructors – Requires Red Cross Assistant Water Safety Instructor award. Minimum Bronze Cross or higher. Emergency First Aid with CPR-B and NLS are recommended.

Water Safety Instructors – Requires Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification and NLS and Standard First Aid with CPR-C.

Lifeguards – Requires current National Lifeguard Service (NLS) and Standard First Aid with CPR-C awards. Automated External Defibrilation certification is recommended.

A Couple of Hours to Full-Time Employment

There are a lot of hours of work available after school, evening and weekend programs, as well as our day-time in-school program (at the Toronto French School). A typical shift is 2 to 4 hours in length but some employees commit to multiple shifts. We work to find a mutually workable schedule for the Swim School and the employee.

Positions at Zodiac Day Camp:

Types

Counsellors – No particular qualifications but must be friendly, responsible and want to work with kids.

Specialists – Coaches, teachers, instructors who have expertise, qualifications and/or certifications in specific area (sports, arts, sciences etc).

Water Safety Instructors – Requires Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification and NLS and Standard First Aid with CPR-C.

Office Admin – Great opportunity for those seeking this type of experience. Need good organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills.

Full-Time Summer Work

The day camp job generally involves full-time work from Monday to Friday from approximately 8:30 am to 4:45 for 7 weeks in July and August. A certain number of 4-week (July) and 6-week contracts are available (additional weeks of work in May and June may be available for Admin/Office employees). Opportunities also available during our 2-week March Break Camp.
