Your Zodiac Staff Opportunity…Working at Zodiac is an incredibly rewarding experience. Our Zodiac Swim School and Zodiac Day Camp staff are made up of an amazing, caring, mature, personable, qualified, kid-friendly and enthusiastic group of people. They are committed to providing our participants with a safe, positive, well-rounded and memorable swim and camp experience. We strive to create a camp and swim school environment based on mutual respect. Staff members are supervised and supported and everyone is given the opportunity to provide input. Our goal is to help each staff member be an amazing leader and mentor and to provide and have a wonderful and memorable experience. Swim staff at the swim school or camp must have appropriate swim qualifications, training and experience. Camp counselors must be nurturing, friendly, responsible and have excellent leadership and communication skills. All Zodiac staff are thoroughly interviewed, reference checked, police checked and trained with a view to having the best staff in the swim school and camp industries. Zodiac Swim School staff work for as few as a couple hours per week to virtually full-time employment as swim instructors, lifeguards and/or supervisors in our daytime, after-school, evening and weekend learn-to-swim lessons, advanced certification and in-school aquatic phys. Ed programs. Our high quality, low-ratio swim programs provide a wonderful individualized opportunity for the students and an opportunity to truly make a positive impact in the students’ experience, great wage and great fun – truly the recipe for a great job! Zodiac Day Camp staff can work during our 7-week summer camp program and/or during our 2-week March Break Camp. Specifically, in our summer camp, staff work primarily from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for seven weeks in July and August (a limited number of staff may receive four or six week contracts). Counsellors aged 16 to 25 (some are even older) work with groups of approximately 12 campers with at least one co-counsellor primarily in our Kid-Vantage Program (variety-based for campers ages 2 ½ to 6 ½ ) or in our specialty program (one main focus area (eg art, sports, science, etc…) for approximately half of the day for each session, with balance of one day enjoying a variety of other adventures, in our 6 ½ to 12 year old campers). Staff who are qualified, experienced and/or experts in a particular area can be hired to be teachers/coaches in areas as diverse as performing arts, land sports, rock-climbing, or science and computers. A fair summer salary (not hourly a weekly amount), together with a wonderful experience and enhancements to the resume makes Zodiac Day Camp the logical and best choice for a summer (and/or March Break) job! We believe that Zodiac Staff return year after year because they are treated with respect and have the kind of experience that makes them want more! Moreover, staff members have the ability to develop life-long skills in organization, leadership, decision-making, creativity and implementing positive growth in participants, fellow staff members and the organization as a whole. If you enjoy working with people and are looking to gain experience that will assist you in your career, life and parenting, Zodiac is the perfect place for you! |
