The courses listed below require a pre-course assignment.  Registration will be closed one week prior to the start of the course to allow for the completion of the assignment(s).  Contact the Swim Administrator to make arrangements to pick up the course materials at the Zodiac main office at 160 Steeprock Drive.

Lifesaving Society & Red Cross Instructor Trainer Clinic

This clinic prepares experienced Red Cross (RC) and Lifesaving Society (LSS) instructors to apprentice as an Instructor Trainer on the instructor course(s) of their choice.  This may lead to candidates becoming a RC or LSS Instructor Trainer.

Prerequisites:               Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor AND Lifesaving Instructor certification AND Advanced Instructor certification AND Bronze Cross Examiner status or higher

Recommended:            2 years experience instructing and examining at Bronze level

Course Duration:          20 hours

Course Cost:                 $415 incl. HST

Lifesaving Society Instructor Trainer Clinic

This clinic prepares experienced Lifesaving Society (LSS) instructors to apprentice as an Instructor Trainer on a Lifesaving Instructor course(s).  This may lead to candidates becoming a LSS Instructor Trainer.

Prerequisite(s):              Lifesaving Instructor certification AND Advanced Instructor certification AND Bronze Cross Examiner status or higher

Recommended:            2 years experience instructing and examining at Bronze level

Course Duration:          12 hours

Course Cost:                 $225 incl. HST

Red Cross Instructor Trainer Clinic

This clinic prepares experienced Red Cross (RC) instructors to apprentice as an Instructor Trainer on an Assistant Water Safety Instructor course and Water Safety Instructor courses.  This may lead to candidates becoming a RC Instructor Trainer.

Prerequisite(s):              Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor

Recommended:            2 years experience instructing the Red Cross Learn To Swim Program

Course Duration:          12 hours

Examiner Standards Clinic

A Lifesaving Society Program

This clinic is the initial step in obtaining Lifesaving Society examiner status.  Lifesaving Society instructors who wish to apply for an Examiner appointment must attend.

Prerequisites:              Lifesaving Instructor certification AND 18 years of age

Required Materials:      Bronze Medals Award Guide
